Together, 61 Years of Successful Printing

2012 Sappi African Printers of the Year

In its 34th year of existence, the Sappi Printers of the Year competition continues to reward printers for excellence in their craft. Using the combination of ink and other print techniques on paper creates a sensory experience that no other communications medium can replicate.

Creating these printed products require skill and dedication. With the trend in print-on-demand and the tough economic conditions printers face, creating exceptional quality products can be challenging.

With this in mind Sappi would like to thank all the 2012 entrants and finalists for their continued support of the Sappi African Printers of the Year competition.

The competition creates a platform for local gold award winners to compete against and measure themselves against their peers at the Sappi International Printers of the Year awards in September, and also provides all bronze, silver and gold award winners with a powerful means of promoting their companies.

Each year the independent panel of judges has the tough task of selecting the winners and this year was no different. The outstanding categories were annual reports, books and brochures. These categories not only featured the most entries, but also reflected innovative print techniques with consistent use of colour and varnishes. The excellent combination of print and selected substrates enhanced the overall visual appearance.

Sappi would like to thank all the participating printers and congratulate the bronze, silver and gold winners.
